The past few days in bullet points...
Interview for summer lab placement went swimmingly and I GOT THE PLACEMENT! Not only is it my dream placement, this has given my confidence a huge boost because I often feel like one of the “stupid” ones at uni and, out of about ten people, only three of whom got interviews, it was me that got it. I really am still good and enthusiastic at what I do and what I want to do. I’m so...

thewantingcomesinwavves: I’ve packed and had the best shower, booked a taxi to the station for the morning and I’m about to make some dinner. I just need to wash my hair in the morning and I’m gone. Sheffield is going to be amazing. Ben’s right: Sheffield WILL be amazing. I just need to go to the doctor, come back and pack and make food to take on the train. And tackle some of the...

Oh my word. Just rang the doctor, was only on hold for no more than one minute AND an appointment had become available for tomorrow. WOOOOOOO being up early(ish) rules.

Strange how I end up waking ang getting up at about half seven the morning after most times I go out, but don’t usually manage to drag myself out of bed anywhere near that on a normal day.

paint-a-vulgar-picture: Interested. I think it used to affect my dress sense a lot more than it does now, but I’ll admit it affects it now, albeit indirectly. When I was fourteen, I used to dress only in black and by the time I was fifteen I had an “emo fringe” and wore studded belts. I don’t even really know where it came from because I went to a tiny school (the...

paint-a-vulgar-picture: 1. Never leave revision until 14 hours before an exam.. panic sets in. 2. My boots aren’t waterproof. 3. Poundland sell nipple tassles. HOLY SWEET JESUS! Poundland sell nipple tassles?! By the way, Asda Living have “20s style headbands” and they’re actually rather nice looking, feathers etc. I’ve already sorted my head attire though ;) ...

I was going to go to Morrison’s for (exciting) baked beans, coffee, milk, cold remedy and highlighter pens (mine’ve run out with all this revision), but then I got my hair to actually go wavy (the closest I can get to curly) and got all excited and put makeup on and googled local film processing and now it is dark. SO I’ll pop to Morrison’s tomorrow after my exam, and just...

I love watching that cookery programme by that gorgeous lady who used to be a catwalk model and makes scrummy food mmmm. Today she’s made macaroni cheese and put bacon and sweet onions in and grated parmesan on top and added fresh thyme. SO TRYING THOSE LITTLE BONUS ADD-INS.

camdenleisurepirate: If you crave chocolate only occasionally, you need not be overtly concerned. However, if you binge on chocolate, it could spell trouble down the road. Chocolate can do a lot more than just packing on the pounds if the addiction intensifies. The addictive effects differ from one person to the… UH-OH, I’m in trouble… (BUT just to put it out there:...

I’m revising by reading each point in the lecture notes, saying it in my head or under my breath, then writing it down from memory. It’s a good method, but I’m at home and every time I’ve finished saying a sentence in my mind, my sister asks me a question and I lose what I’ve just memorised. I love her dearly, but I really need to get this learnt. I knew my revision...

Day 4: 7 fears/phobias
1) Dogs (mainly border collies). 2) Wasps. 3) Loss of those important to me. 4) Not doing what I want in my life. 5) Not being liked. 6) Tooth decay! 7) Also, the occasional thing will scare or worry me as an isolated event but wouldn’t count as a “fear”.

Science Learning Easier When Students Put Down... →
jtotheizzoe: Everyone print this out and take it to your teacher, so that you can say “Yo, teach! Science says that we should put down these stupid textbooks and actually learn!” I kind of figured this out the on Wednesday night, when I was revising for my Thursday exam. Bit late by then but bearing it in mind for the next one!
